Ibanez RG8870-BRE J.Custom Electric Guitar, Black Rutile

YOU CAN ALSO PURCHASE THIS ON

Straight out of Ibanez’s Axe Design Lab, the J Custom RG8870 is packed to the gills with exclusive features. It all starts with an alder body, which is chambered for lighter weight and extra resonance, and topped with eye-grabbing flamed maple. The back of the RG8870’s 5-piece Super Wizard AS neck features a Velvetouch finish for super-smooth playability, and it’s capped by a Macassar ebony fingerboard with 24 jumbo frets, which are finished using Ibanez’s J Custom fret edge treatment. Reaching the upper frets on this solidbody electric guitar feels effortless, thanks to its deep, beveled lower horn scoop and all-access neck joint. DiMarzio’s Tone Zone, True Velvet, and PAF 36th Anniversary pickups push your amp to get crunchy rhythms and hot leads, with a coil-tap switch thrown in for maximum sonic versatility. Beyond that, you can bend, twist, and dive-bomb with impunity, courtesy of an Edge-Zero tremolo. Gotoh machine heads and strap lock pins put the perfect finishing touches on the Ibanez J Custom RG8870.

Brand

Ibanez

Ibanez is one of the first Japanese musical instrument companies to gain a significant foothold in import guitar sales in the United States and Europe, as well as the first brand of guitars to mass-produce the seven-string guitar and eight-string guitar. The company has an impressive lineup of products ranging from instruments to pedals and accessories, and have recently raised standards and eyebrows with the new AZ Series, which Josh Smith described as the best superstrat he’s played in a long time.
